NerdBack provides cashback activation and tracking for supported software and SaaS merchants. This policy covers the NerdBack website, browser extension and backend service.

Information we collect

• Account information such as email, password hash and referral code.
• Cashback, purchase, wallet, referral and payout information.
• Only the origin/domain visited on merchant sites explicitly supported by the extension. We do not collect general browser history or page content.
• Technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
• Beta signup emails submitted through the website.

The authentication token is stored locally in Chrome extension storage. The extension does not store the user's NerdBack password.

How we use information

Information is used to detect supported merchants, authenticate users, activate affiliate tracking, connect eligible purchases to users, calculate cashback and referrals, process payout requests, prevent fraud and provide support.

Clicking an activation link creates an activation record, not a financial transaction. A pending transaction is created only after an affiliate partner reports an eligible purchase.

Sharing

When cashback is activated, NerdBack opens the merchant's affiliate URL with a pseudonymous tracking identifier. Affiliate networks and merchants use it to report purchase and commission events required to provide cashback. NerdBack does not sell personal information.

The beta signup form uses FormSubmit to deliver submitted email addresses to NerdBack. Hosting and security providers may process limited information only as needed to operate the service or comply with law.

Security and retention

Production transmissions containing user information use HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Information is retained as needed to provide cashback, maintain accounting records, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.

Your choices

You may uninstall the extension at any time. To request access, correction or deletion, email info@nerdback.com. Certain transaction records may need to be retained for accounting, fraud prevention or legal requirements.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

NerdBack's use and transfer of information received through the Chrome extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Browsing information is used only for the user-facing cashback functionality and is not used for personalized advertising.
